Imagine yourselves as like a factory:
In trying to be alive in this world, our factories also unfortunately produce pollution, which is the sin from our hearts. This is when we be use finite resources/worldly things to fuel our energy.
In order to clear out the pollution, you may open the windows or release the gasses or other waste through various tunnels and pipes. That is confession.
However, does that mean that the source of the sin has stopped? Not at all!
To truly repent, one must inherently change the way the factory is running. One must change the way the factory is getting its energy; we must develop a plan in order to produce clean, renewable energy, so that we no longer pollute in the first place; so that the blueprints of the factory is made is completely changed around. That is a true turning away from our sin and renewing our minds.
Therefore, a confession is not enough. What are you doing to change your inner blueprints and the way your spiritual factory is set up? How are you planning on getting clean, pure energy, from the Source– energy that never runs out?
After all, we don’t want to destroy our environment (the people around us), and cause the life (that God gave us) to become extinct by our constant, unrepentant pollution. How will you clean up your factory today?
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
– 2Co 4:16
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
